The Universe’s Survival Guide…Or, How to Get What You Really, Really Want.

Who hasn’t heard of the Law of Attraction? Well, in case you’ve been living on a remote island for the last 12 years, it’s the idea that we can attract abundance in all areas of our lives. The universe responds to the energy we put out into it. This concept gained massive popularity when the book The Secret was released and even made Oprah’s “Ya Gotta Read This Hit List.” Suddenly, everyone was talking about the Law of Attraction—attending seminars, creating practices, writing books. I think there was even a Law of Attraction cookbook, claiming that by making certain recipes, you could attract the love of your life, and the universe would deliver them to your doorstep.

What we weren’t told is that there are actually 12 Universal Laws, and each one is just as important as the Law of Attraction—but perhaps not as marketable or profitable. I believe the Law of Attraction was the easier sell and, no pun intended, the more attractive of all the laws. Fortunately, there’s truth in it, and when you embrace its premise, it really works.

The idea is simple: the Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. It applies to everything in the universe—from tangible things like objects, people, and situations, to intangible things like thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It’s no coincidence that when things are going well, they often continue getting better. Similarly, when things are going badly, they can keep spiraling downward. It all comes down to the energy you’re emitting. That energy constantly attracts situations, events, and experiences that match it. By applying the Law of Attraction to your life, you’ll gain clarity on why things happen as they do and, more importantly, how to shift your energy and change the outcomes you experience.

I personally love the Law of Attraction. I’ve tested it many times, and it rarely fails me. And when I can’t manifest what I want at the exact time I want it, I’ve found it’s usually for one of these reasons:

  1. The timing wasn’t right, and what I wanted came to me at a more opportune time.
  2. I was being protected in some way, and not receiving what I wanted kept me safe.
  3. The universe didn’t give me what I wanted when I expected it, but it offered something far better than I imagined.

I have years of experiences like this, all of which began when I embraced the Universal Laws. (Okay, folks, I know this might sound a little “woo-woo” now, but stick with me.) Sure, I’ve been the subject of jokes at family dinners, but I trust in these beliefs because they’ve changed my life for the better. Your thoughts and beliefs create your reality. It may not happen exactly as you envisioned, but it does happen. It may not happen at the exact moment you want, but it will. You just need to trust. There are things beyond what we can see and understand that are working in our favor. Have faith that what you want is already there, waiting for the right moment to manifest. Everything becomes possible when your energy aligns.

Now, let’s talk about the other Universal Laws that are just as powerful as the Law of Attraction—and they work, too.

The Law of Divine Oneness: Everything and everyone is connected. When we allow ourselves to be true to who we are and embrace our passions, we naturally want others to live in the same frequency.

The Law of Energy and Vibration: Everything in the universe moves through vibrational frequencies. Pay attention to the energy you put out—because the universe is listening.

The Law of Action: Every action produces a result. Seems straightforward, right?

The Law of Correspondence: We control our lives. Our actions directly affect the outcomes. So, be mindful in everything you do.

The Law of Cause and Effect: Nothing happens by chance. Every action you take has a reaction.

The Law of Compensation: You receive what you give. This is the simple principle of “do unto others as you would have done unto you.”

The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy: We have the power to change our lives. Change is inevitable, and nothing is permanent.

The Law of Relativity: We grow through life’s challenges, no matter how difficult. Maybe the struggles we face have a deeper purpose—thank you, Universe.

The Law of Polarity: Everything has an opposite. Negative situations can be turned into positives.

The Law of Rhythm: All energy vibrates rhythmically. Everything develops through this natural flow.

The Law of Gender: Everything in the universe has both masculine and feminine energies. Yin and Yang are present in all we do.

So, it seems the universe is a pretty busy place, constantly conspiring to give us what we need and desire, as long as we stay open and aligned with the possibilities. Listen, pay attention, create, manifest—it’s already yours. Now is the time to accept the gift. Open your arms.

Namaste, my friends. Namaste.

Michele

  1. OK, I’m with you on this…..to a point. I think it’s a good philosophy to have, but only part or start of the plan. I am reminded of the scene in Practical Magic when the young Sally mixes up her love spell and sends it flying off into the sky, believing that her ideal mate couldn’t possibly exist, but what if……and wouldn’t it be grand? What you describe is a bit like casting a spell and sending it out there, but I see it as a place to start, followed up by practical steps to get what you are after. When I was in the 3rd grade, we were offered the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument (beyond the required recorder). My mother pushed the idea of the violin, but I was attracted to the flute. I imagined myself playing it. I liked the sound. It was happy, like birds singing. For one of the few times in my young life, I stood my ground and insisted on the flute. What followed was a lot of work. Practice, practice, practice. Learning to read music beyond the very basic piano lessons I was taking. How to breathe. Developing an embouchure: the way in which a player applies their mouth to the mouthpiece of a brass or wind instrument, especially as it affects the production of the sound. How to bisect your vision to see the conductor and read music simultaneously. Hard work, diligence, patience, self confidence, failing, correcting, making slow progress. So unless one is a child prodigy or an enchanted being, the desire to be a flutist is only the starting (and sustaining) factor. To get what you want takes work.

    • I love a reader who challenges me ! Well Said…and I agree. In approximately 800 words I am, in fact, casting a net. Using the Universal Laws is not just about having a thought, putting it out there and expecting miracles to happen. That being said…everything begins with the thought, the belief, that is the genesis of any change…without this, no actions can be effectively taken, let alone the hard work required to achieve anything in life.
Keep your comments from across the pond coming…I love it !
